Sailing Home

I’ve been awake since 5 am this morning. Here I am at age 75 feeling like a kid at Christmas waiting for Santa to arrive as I pace and sip a coffee awaiting Don’s arrival. We are heading to Thunder Bay this morning. A crew of 11 souls. We are bringing the tug “Peninsula” home. The Historical Society of Marathon, ON purchased the tug that shunted pulp logs from the mouth of the Pic River in my youth to Peninsula Harbour. I remember sunny summer days laying on the hot rocks along the shoreline at Cummings Beach watching the Peninsula and her crew tie off immense booms of logs in the harbour.
